If You’re Going to Buy New, Buy Smart
I’m one of those bleeding heart, environmentalist liberals. But, I also have a tremendous amount of compassion for people of every political persuasion, and I do mean EVERY. But, that is not the point of this post.
My thesis, which belongs at the end of the first paragraph, is that it is better for the environment for you to reduce the number of products and resources you consume. However, it is not practical to cut out everything. So, if you must buy something new, make sure you are making smart purchases.
I Know You Don’t Have the Time
Who the heck has the time to research a new vacuum sealer for hours on end? Well, I do, but that’s because it’s my job. Between your job, raising your little miracles, playing beer league kickball, and Netflix and chilling, you probably don’t have a ton of free time to scour the reviews for every possible model of the product you are thinking of buying.
Yet, it is your duty to the environment, Jesus, your pocketbook, and your country to make smart buying decisions. You don’t want the items you buy to end up in a landfill or choking some seal or something.
This is why reputable review sites are important. Brains Report puts in the time, research, effort, and probably other things to make sure the products we endorse are worthy of your dollars and don’t end up in a landfill before you’ve gotten sufficient use out of them. We also make recommendations based on what needs you have.
But, Brains Report does not review every product category. If there is something you are thinking of buying, please let us know so we can research it and help others. If you can’t find what you are looking for here, we suggest you go to some competitor sites, such as The Wirecutter, The Sweethome, Business Insider, Consumer Reports, and Consumer Search. There are also niche sites, but you really need to be careful about where you look.
